Advantages And Disadvantages of Hydraulic System
Overview of Hydraulic Valves
Hydraulic valves find extensive applications in a variety of fields and for different types of media. They are commonly utilized in scenarios involving water, steam, sewage, the papermaking industry, and the petrochemical industry, as well as in equipment for transporting solution and slurry two-phase mixed flow media, dust gas, granular fluid, and powder solid media.
With hydraulic operation, these valves offer greater convenience for management automation and remote control. Moreover, when equipped with hydraulic signal devices, they can be employed for automatic operation and centralized control, which enhances the overall efficiency and ease of managing related processes.
Advantages of a hydraulic butterfly valve
1. The structure is simple, compact, and of a small size.
2. The transmission is stable and reliable.
3. A large output torque can be achieved.
4. The output torque can be precisely adjusted through the constant-pressure relief valve, including the adjustment of opening and closing torques, and it can even be directly shown on the hydraulic instrument.
5. The speed adjustment is convenient.
6. In case of a sudden power outage, the accumulator can still be used for one or several power operations. This is of particular importance to the automatic emergency shut-off valve and the wellhead blowout valve in long-distance pipelines.
Disadvantages of hydraulic valves
1. The oil temperature is significantly influenced by the ambient temperature. Variations in the oil temperature lead to changes in oil viscosity, which in turn impact the operation.
2. The piping is rather troublesome and prone to leakage.
3. It is not appropriate for carrying out various operations on signals (such as signal amplification, memory, logical judgment, and other operations).
Advantages of hydraulic system
1. It features a small size and is lightweight.
2. It has high stiffness, high precision, and a fast response.
3. It offers a large driving force and is suitable for directly driving heavy loads.
4. It has a wide speed control range and multiple speed control modes.
5. It has self-lubricating and self-cooling properties and enjoys a long lifespan.
6. It is easy to implement security protection.
Disadvantages of hydraulic system
1. It has poor resistance to pollution from the working fluid.
2. It is sensitive to temperature variations.
3. There is a leakage hazard.
4. Its manufacturing is difficult and comes with a high cost.
5. It is not suitable for long-distance transmission and relies on hydraulic energy.
